NP Nutrition - Doom put to the test

Review: NP Nutrition Doom

After we have already tested the pure Pump Booster The Future from NP Nutrition, we now dedicate ourselves to the focus booster from the same company called "Doom". NP Nutrition does not explicitly advertise this booster as a pre-workout booster, but sees its purpose as a pre-cardio stack, learning booster or gaming booster.

Ingredients of the NP Nutrition Doom

11 active ingredients are included, mainly aimed at the focus or the ability to concentrate and memory performance, as it should be for a focus booster. The serving size is 1 scoop or 10 grams and contains a total of 30 servings.

N-acetyl tyrosine: N-acetyl tyrosine is the acetylated form of L-tyrosine and ensures its better absorption and bioavailability. L-tyrosine sharpens the focus, increases motivation and counteracts tiredness. With 1000 mg, the dosage is in an optimal range, common dosage recommendations are between 300 mg and 1500 mg.

DMAE –Bitartrate: DMAE or dimethylaminoethanol bitartrate is a nootropic and increases the concentration of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, so that information can be better transmitted between nerve cells. 1000 mg are again very well dosed here. The recommended daily intake is between 300 mg and 2000 mg.

L-theanine: L-theanine has a calming, stress-reducing effect and at the same time sharpens the focus and the ability to concentrate. In cooperation with Caffeine it affects the classic side effects of Caffeine such as nervousness or an increased heart rate. 400 mg is included in, which is the high end of the dosage recommendations that range from 150 mg to 400 mg.

Alpha GPC: Likewise Alpha GPC is a precursor of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine and has positive effects on memory performance. The effect on the training focus is particularly interesting for athletes. It contains 300 mg, most manufacturers recommend an intake of 300 - 600 mg.

Rhodiola rosea: This active ingredient is also known in Germany under the name rose root. Rhodolia Rosea helps reduce stress and lifts mood.

The dosage recommendations for daily intake are between 300 mg and 700 mg. Much lower doses of around 50 mg can also prevent symptoms of exhaustion, although daily intake is important. It contains 250 mg.

Schisandra Chinensis: This active ingredient - also known as the Chinese split basket - helps reduce anxiety and stress and improve the ability to concentrate. It also works Schisandra Chinensis Against fatigue. The medicinal plant is also said to have positive effects on libido. The dosage recommendations vary from 500 mg to 2000 mg. This contains 200 mg.

Citrus aurantium extract: Also called bitter orange extract, better known under the name synephrine. Synpehrin is traditionally found in many fat burners; a daily amount of 30 mg Synephrine is recommended. It contains 500 mg of the Citrus Aurantium extract, but we cannot say how many mg of this actually represent synephrine.

Caffeine: As in (almost) every booster, this is also allowed here Caffeine not missing. With 200 mg, the dosage is in the lower range (for boosters).

Theobromine: However, here is next Caffeine or Theobromine included. Theobromine however works in comparison to Caffeine far weaker. The effect is more long-lasting. This contains 200 mg.

Bacopa monnieri (55% bacosides): Also called the little leaflet or Brahmi. Bacopa monnieri Extract ensures the functioning of existing synapses and the formation of new ones, thus ensuring optimal brain function. The substance is also popular in brain boosters because it also relieves stress, fears and depressive moods.

Usual dosage recommendations are between 200 mg and 300 mg per day, with a bacoside content between 40% and 50% being assumed. With 300 mg, we hit the upper end of the current recommendations here, even with a bacoside content of 55%.

Ginkgo biloba extract: Ginkgo Biloba ensures better blood flow to the brain and, as a result, an optimization of cognitive performance. In addition, Ginkgo Biloba is able to lower the level of the stress hormone cortisol in the body.

A minimum dose of 100 mg should be included, here even a very good 250 mg are included.

Conclusion ingredients:

Some nootropics are used in Doom. Already here on our site we have introduced you to the 10 best nootropics, of which 4 of these nootropics can be found in this booster.

Package design

Instead of an "alien head" like in the Pump Booster The Future, one looks directly at the helmet of a soldier from the future. Above it is the word “Doom” in silver letters. The design of the can is in the colors black, red and silver.

You can find the consumption recommendation, the ingredients with the dosages per serving, the list of ingredients, general information on food supplements, the words "Made in Germany" and the company address on the can. Here, too, everything is exemplary.

Taste and solubility: nothing for gourmets

The booster is available in three flavors

  • Orange
  • Raspberry
  • Tropical

We also tested the orange version, as well as with the Pump Booster The Future. The recommended dose is 1 scoop (10 grams) 30 minutes before training. There is no recommendation for the amount of liquid. We decided on around 300 ml.

After shaking, the powder dissolves almost completely without leaving any residue.

In contrast to the Pump Booster The Future, which is milky in color, the drink turns orange. Here, too, the orange taste comes through clearly, but with this booster the bitter note is not as pronounced compared to The Future. In terms of taste, we like the Doom a little better than the Pump Booster from the same company, but there is still no taste revelation.

NP Nutrition Doom Effect

First of all: no booster works the same for all consumers, so effect reports are always subjective experience reports. The booster has been tested several times by two team members; the sensations were similar in both. The test was carried out with a scoop.

🤓 alertness and energy (7.5/10)

With 200 mg Caffeine and 200 mg Theobromine the booster is not one of the boosters that brutally catapults you forward. The booster delivers a good, solid energy level and lets you wake up even on tired days. By the Theobromine you also have a longer-acting, but somewhat gentler energy level than with pure Caffeine. Das theanine helps to avoid any negative caffeine effects.

🤯 Focus and Drive (9/10)

This is where the booster shows its strengths. The mix of the different nootropics gives you a razor-sharp focus. Not only in the gym, especially in cognitively more demanding tasks, you can feel that the booster boosts memory and strengthens your cognitive abilities.

💪 Pump and Vascularity ()

No rating as it does not contain any active pump ingredients.

😈 Performance and exhaustion (7/10)

In terms of performance, you are on a slightly above-average level, which is on the one hand the Caffeine and its “alertness effect” is owed, on the other hand also to the sharpened focus and the associated better muscle-mind connection. In this way you can cope with your usual training quota and also go a little further without being excessively exhausted.

☠️ End of action and side effects (9/10)

The duration of action is around 3 - 3,5 hours, with the effect gently subsiding. The effects of the caffeine wear off a little earlier, while the focus continues. We could not find any side effects.

Price-performance ratio: Inexpensive and fair

At 34,90 euros for 30 servings, the Doom is very interesting in terms of price, especially considering the large number of nootropics. However, it must be remembered that it does not contain any active pump ingredients. Those who value this, of course, have to “stack” the booster a bit, which of course also has an effect on the price. However, we can recommend the booster unreservedly for learning or as a gaming booster.

Over-all conclusion

The second booster we tested from NP Nutrition does exactly what it was promised: Providing us with a crystal-clear focus, paired with a solid to good energy level. By definition, you will look for pumps in vain here (of course you can also achieve a certain level of pumps through diet before training). If you are looking for a top focus booster at a fair price-performance ratio, you've come to the right place. Simply stack the pump ingredients of your choice and you have a "complete" pre-workout booster that leaves (almost) nothing to be desired. Or you can make it even easier for yourself and combine a scoop from Doom with a scoop from The Future and have everything you need for your booster training.
